The choir
The Sorbian National Ensemble choir has a unique position among the professional choirs in Germany, thanks to its versatile content, musical and linguistic remit.
Its stylistic diversity includes a classical choral repertoire as well as Sorbian songs, contemporary musical theatre and modern children’s musicals. It is particularly distinguished in its stage works by its multilingualism (Upper Sorbian, Lower Sorbian and German). The ensemble choir therefore cannot only be experienced in large folkloristic stage productions, but also participates in choral symphonic works and performs independent concert programmes.
